I am now able to clarify the Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s plans for 2021 and 2022.

The Society is pleased to announce that ‘Tarantara! Tarantara! will be staged in late April 2021 followed, as foreshadowed, by a re-scheduled ‘Evita’ in late September 2021.

Tarantara! Tarantara! by Ian Taylor tells the story in words and music of the famous Gilbert and Sullivan partnership: the meeting, the association with D’Oyly Carte, the mounting success, the divergences of temperament and conflicting ambitions. We first performed it in 1990 and then again in 2003, so it has effectively become part of our repertoire.

I am also particularly pleased to be able to announce that we have secured the rights to present ‘Sunset Boulevard’ by Billy Wilder and Charles Brackett in 2022.

Information on ticket sales for 2021 will be available later this year – and remember that tickets already purchased for Evita 2020 can be re-allocated to Evita in 2021 or refunded as you wish. All refunds or exchanges must be processed through our Ticket Secretary on 8447 7239 or via email to [email protected].

The future for the Society and for your entertainment is coming together well, and we trust that you will be a part of our return to the stage from 2021.  Thank you once more for your patience and support.
